Bag2School is the UK’s leading textile recycler and school fundraiser. Since its launch in 1999, it has paid out over £48 million to schools and early years settings across the country. By taking part, we are not only supporting our nursery but also making a positive impact on the environment.
Recycling textiles plays an important role in reducing waste. A recent DEFRA report highlights how textile collection schemes help reduce the amount of clothing sent to landfill. Despite this, the UK still sends around 350,000 tonnes of textiles to landfill every year. Together, we can help change this.
Families are invited to donate unwanted items using the Bag2School bag provided. Donations can include:
- Adult and children’s clothing
- Shoes (please tie pairs together)
- Hats, belts, handbags, and soft toys
(For full details of accepted items, please visit bag2school.com.)
If you fill your donation bag and have more items to give, feel free to use any additional bags. We also encourage you to ask grandparents, friends, and neighbours to get involved and have a clear-out too!
Collection Date: 5th March 2026
Time: 9:00am
Location: Banana Moon Baddesley Ensor Nursery
Please bring your bag (or bags!) into nursery from Monday 2nd March ready for collection day and help us make this a great success.
In addition to fundraising, this initiative helps raise children’s awareness of recycling, reuse, and caring for our environment, supporting our commitment to sustainability.
