Autumn Family Task Bags – Exploring the Season Together!

This term, we’re starting with our Autumn Family Task Bag!

These activities help children to build their Cultural Capital – that means giving them opportunities to explore, experience, and learn new things about the world around them. Through these shared moments, children gain knowledge and skills that will help them throughout life.

🍂 Autumn Family Task: Collecting Autumnal Objects

On your walks, park visits, or outdoor adventures, take a look around for the signs of autumn:

Can you spot the colourful, crunchy leaves on the ground – red, orange, green, or even purple?
Have you seen a conker tree nearby? Maybe you can find some shiny conkers on the ground!
Look out for squirrels with their fluffy tails, busy collecting food for the winter.
Try making sounds with sticks – is yours big or small, loud or quiet?
Can you find any berries to squash and use for painting?

Use your brown Autumn bag to collect some of your favourite treasures along the way. Bring them back to nursery to share your discoveries with us – we’ll be talking about them, exploring textures and colours, and using them in our activities and displays!
